 Isabella Bai was born in Naples. She lived for many years in Rome until settling in Milan.
It was in Milan during the 1960's where Isabella developed her artistic skills at the prestigious Italian art establishment 'Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti', under the guidance of internationally renowned artists such as Luigi Veronesi, Walter Valentini and Emilio Tadini.
 
She started her artistic activity as a mural artist, decorating private residences and public buildings. Among her more unusual art works was a giant 60 by 6 metre exterior wall mural commissioned by the environmentally sensitive owner of a factory in Rome. The mural is still in place and continues to this day to distract the occasional motorist. Another was a fantasy of skies and marble columns commissioned for the interior of a luxury forty-three metre yacht in Oregon (U.S.A.).
 
From a lifetime of discipline of mural art, Isabella has spent the last 15 years dedicating most of her time to painting canvases, with nature being a constant reference, in particular trees ('Alberi').
Isabella's 'Alberi' series represents trees with undoubtful anthropomorphic characteristics. Sometimes the colour of the sky is the main inspiration. It is, in any case, an uninterrupted dialogue with nature that began with her periodical visits to Australia, where she has become captivated by the quality of Australia's brilliant light and by all the fabulous varieties of trees, flowers and fruits.
 
Recognition of Isabella's art has appeared in the form of articles and critiques in newspapers and specialised magazines with features on her artistic activities. Her exhibitions have attracted media attention and positive critiques. She has won the 'People's choice Award' at the Gallery of Fine Art of Port Douglas with her entry 'Sweet hill'.
 
Most recently Isabella Bai has held a personal exhibition at the Villa Ponce De Leon in Gavirate, Italy, showing 15 years of her work.
 
In 2005 she has partecipated at different collective exhibitions, among which "Symbolica" at the Esteste Castle in Ferrara.
