She has also exhibited at Garden Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia, USA in 1978, and at Skulpurhaven in Thy, Denmark in 2011. She was an art teacher in the public school system, and taught many art workshops. Her work has been influenced by Marc Chagall, Mary Frank, aboriginal art, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Frida Kahlo. She calls herself an abstract artist that uses spontaneous drips and brush strokes in an expressive manner to create fantasy and ethereal images. These images are autobiographical and expressive of dreams, healing, and transformative thought. Karin states that “I escape into my paintings into a dreamlike reality, and conjure images from my past. Expressive symbols, color, organic forms, and the story are very important in my art.”
