The Critique
With her “Satyr and the Mystic Beings of the Green Forest” Raliza attacks the “sacred mountain” of Anachronism. The dream of craft, of the museum and of the great painting of the past. The “Satyr” is an outgrowth of dream and fantasy; an incredible being, child of the oneirism of myth. The Satyr dances in the silence of a legendary swamp, enigmatic and marvelous. Thus Raliza invites us to return within ourselves, letting free rein to what Baudelaire calls the “queen of faculties”: Imagination.
