About Her Art

PARISIAN FANTASIES

Against a blue and green background, the colours of nature, I play with simple geometric elements which, together with the stylised shapes of Paris rooftops, represent human construction through the centuries.
Can culture, then—the work of humankind—grow without offending and destroying nature, instead unfolding in a fluid embrace, always creating new harmonies?

Adriana Tipaldi

In Adriana Tipaldi’s airy paintings we find not so much the real Paris as a Paris of the soul: the gentle, crystalline purity of a metaphysical landscape, the antechamber to a Baudelairean Elsewhere where everything is “luxe, calme et volupté”.
Painting as a catharsis of the everyday, a true “invitation to travel”: crisp yet intense strokes of spiritual geometry, reflecting an inner light
constantly alive.

Prof. Silvio Raffo

IMPROBABLE PLACES

Improbable places, or perhaps impossible...
But I imagined them, or dreamed them, and tried to portray them on canvas: in these paintings too, as in other earlier series, I wanted to express my deep desire for a world in which nature—represented by a few stylised elements, animals, plants, simple blades of grass—coexists, without suffering any violence, with human culture.
Human work is rendered through geometric forms, a kind of weave with volumetric rhythms that symbolise rationality, sometimes with images of candid buildings, houses, little churches, improbable stairways that vanish into space.
Places where harmony reigns, without clashes—places in which humankind, never depicted, loves and respects nature   in   all   its manifestations.

Adriana Tipaldi

AMBIGUOUS SPACE

The reality she observes is broken down and reassembled, grasped for an instant and then lost in space, lived intensely or dreamed in a sensual surrender…
In every painting Adriana Tipaldi conveys a powerful tension toward the sky of becoming, coloured by expectations, by vibrations, by tremors rising from distant roots, symbolised by the fullness of the fruit where everything finds its beginning. Which is also its end.
Memory and design, death and life, sea and sky merge into a distant blue..

Prof. Gaetano Matricardi
