About His Painting 

ALDO MASCIANGELO (signed ALMAS) worked for 40 years as a designer in the field of plant engineering; resident in Rome at 95 Via Vito G. Galati, e-mail: aldo.masciangelo@fastwebnet.it
A mycologist, he was part of the AMER Scientific Committee (Associazione Micologica Ecologica Romana) as a lecturer and speaker; since 1990 he has written for the fortnightly “Mondo Sabino” as well as other Sabine periodicals, and he was president of the Cultural Association Frasso Sabino (RI), active in organizing cultural events in the Rieti area.
He was also president of the Municipal Institution “Arcadia” of Frasso Sabino, which oversees astronomy and the music school, as well as other cultural events promoted by the municipality.
He also served as artistic director, for twenty years, of the classical-lyric festival “FrassoMusica” held in Frasso Sabino during the summer period.
He published “Frasso Sabino and the Osteria Nuova area” (1992), a compendium on the archaeology, folklore and history of this part of the Sabina, receiving for this work the title of Honorary Inspector of the Lazio Archaeological Superintendency from the Minister of Cultural Heritage Hon. Veltroni.
In December 2002 he published, with the publisher ANTALIA, the short-story book “The Fireside Tales”.
In October 2007 he published, with the publisher ALETTI EDITORE, the fable book “My Kind of Bestiary”.
He was also an honor guard of the royals of the Pantheon.
He completed an eight-year course on Art History with the Popular University (UPTER), receiving a diploma of competence.
In 2000 he began the art of painting with Prof. Clerici and later with Master Francesco Ventura, with whom he now shares the studio.
 
He is a board member of the “Arte 2000 Association”, active in the Sabina area with painting exhibitions and cultural events such as “L’Oliva d’oro”, held in the Rieti area.
Present in various exhibitions in Rome, in the Lazio area and in other regions of Central Italy; recently he exhibited at the Civic Museum of Palazzo Eroli in Narni and at the former Pinacoteca in Assisi. Some of his paintings are in private collections and others abroad.
His name appears among the painters in the COMED yearbook and in the catalogue of the Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Sara in Alessandria.
