About His Art

Born in Naples on 12 October 1959, but for years resident in Tuscany, he pursued art studies, a great admirer of art and a keen observer of new techniques and new forms of expression. After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, he sought new forms of expression in painting and his own expressive dimension: he frequented the studios of many Roman artists in order to experiment and create new techniques. And so, at the beginning of the new century, as a true self-taught artist, he developed his own technique to create collages that remain unchanged over time. The technique is very personal, with an almost meticulous preparation of both the support and the selection of paper cut-outs and other materials such as: enamels, acrylic paints, oil colours, lead. The oil or acrylic colour pastes are modified so as to take on an unexpected plasticity, so they can be used almost like a pliable, mouldable material. Each single creation requires a long time of gestation and preparation in order to create effects of three-dimensionality and depth. For this purpose many of his works have numerous layers; everything is then crystallised and protected by a varnish that is absolutely unalterable over time. The artist has many group exhibitions throughout Italy to his credit. He is on Facebook with the account Ca San.
