HIS BIOGRAPHY

Born in Naples in 1975, he graduated from the Naples Art High School in 1994 and later earned his degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples in 2001. His first oil works were influenced by De Chirico’s metaphysical art and by the surrealism of Dalí and Magritte. In 1997, inspired by artists such as Burri, Palladino and Pomodoro, he left oil painting and began an experimental phase using various materials, such as: asphalt, wood, sands, enamels and silicone glues. In this phase his subjects depict aspects linked to human emotions and concepts about existence. In 2006 he returned to his initial metaphysical-surreal style, transforming it into something else. The charm of Escher’s lithographs and Mondrian’s geometric balance enter his canvases, where this time acrylic colors bring to life cities or landscapes strictly in axonometric perspectives. In the same period he painted various oil canvases using pure color, without thinning it, playing with geometric shapes. In 2013 he abandoned acrylics and returned to material-based work. Ropes, stones, colored powders and everyday objects such as watches and mobile phones emerge from the various supports used, becoming the protagonists of the works themselves. There is no inside or outside, there is the whole. In some of his works such as: Leaving the Road, Cosmic Implosion, The Mind Dominates Matter, there are concepts linked to man, to the emotional and rational sphere at the same time. Currently his research focuses on inserting words and numbers on his canvases. From 1997 to today he has taken part in numerous exhibitions throughout Italy. He lives and works in the Marche.
