His Biography
MARINO MARINELLI was born in Trieste on 23 February 1954.
After completing secondary studies with a scientific focus, he graduated in architecture at the I.U.A.V. in Venice.
The beginnings of his artistic activity (early seventies) were influenced by an interest in Impressionist painting, and his first works interpreted the most typical aspects of the local landscape, filtered and mediated by the emotional impression it aroused.
Later, his interest in alchemy and esotericism led him to a gradual shift toward his current forms of artistic expression.
He staged his first solo exhibition in 1976. He later took part in various national and international competitions, earning awards and acclaim, and exhibited in group and solo shows in several Italian cities.

Reviews
“…he is a man who has embarked on an adventurous journey within his own existence to seek rules, reflections, universal thoughts. These are expressed in his pictorial constructions…..They are dark and shadowy, telling us of a descent into the recesses of the psyche and the soul, where crucibles, chalices, slits appear, ritual signs of initiation for introspection, for meditation” (Lorenzo Micheletti – “Il Piccolo”)
“…Marino Marinelli titled his exhibition “Toward Higher Worlds” and presented recent works with a surrealist atmosphere that bear witness to the point of arrival of this interesting artist, who took his first steps in the mid-seventies and was able to evolve his language through various phases of research. Today it can certainly be stated that the high level achieved is also the result of the architecture studies he completed and of applications in construction and design, which enabled him to attain a precise sense of space …..” (Antongiulio Rizzo – “ArteCultura” June 2003)
