  His Biography

Paolo Gheri was born in Florence in 1940 and lives near Siena. He attended the University of Florence, graduating in pedagogy; he worked as a teacher and as a school principal, always taking an interest in art and art history.
He began drawing and painting from a young age; in 1962 he attended a free drawing course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and from 1962 to 1964 he followed the painting lessons of Prof. Carlo Capezzuoli in Poggibonsi. Gheri is, however, essentially a self-taught painter. He works in various techniques: pencil and ink drawing, acrylic, oil, tempera and, above all, watercolor.
His works are held by private collectors in Italy and abroad.
He collaborates with some art and culture magazines; he has published several books and essays on art and art education.
